We generated $5.4M in qualified pipeline for Micro1 in the first week running the offer, through targeting US management consulting and IT companies.
Company overview
Micro1 is an AI company reportedly valued at $4 billion. It announced a commitment to spend $1 billion over the following 12 months licensing enterprise operational data to support AI development.
This created an opportunity for established businesses to potentially earn revenue by licensing existing operational records, including internal documentation, project histories, technical records, and information about how work moves between software tools.
We focused on identifying companies that could be suitable for the program and connecting them with the opportunity. Potential deal values were estimated at $200K–$2M per company, subject to qualification, data assessment, and licensing terms.
The challenge
The opportunity was unfamiliar to many businesses. Most companies had never considered licensing their internal operational records to help train AI models, so the offer needed to be explained clearly and credibly.
We also needed to identify companies likely to have enough relevant records, the right internal systems, and the necessary rights to license their data.
The main challenges were:
Finding suitable companies: Identifying businesses with established operations and potentially valuable internal records.
Reaching decision-makers: Connecting with founders and CEOs who could assess the opportunity and involve the right people.
Explaining an unfamiliar offer: Making the licensing process understandable without overcomplicating the initial message.
Addressing data concerns: Communicating privacy considerations and clarifying that data suitability and licensing requirements would need further assessment.
The process
We focused on two industries: management consulting and IT services. Both generate substantial operational records through client projects, internal workflows, technical documentation, and the software used to manage day-to-day work.
We targeted US companies with 50–200 employees, prioritizing businesses with at least 30 desk-based employees, three or more years in operation, five or more software tools, and primarily English-language records.
We then developed outreach around the potential value of licensing existing operational records. The messaging explained what types of records might qualify, why AI companies were interested in them, and how businesses could explore the opportunity without fundamentally changing their operations.
We also prepared the email infrastructure before launch, allowing us to begin outreach as soon as the prospect list and messaging were ready rather than waiting through a planned two-week setup period.
Throughout the campaign, we focused on reaching relevant decision-makers, identifying interested companies, and qualifying opportunities for further assessment.
The solution
We launched 8 targeted outbound campaigns around three key elements.
Founder-level outreach
We contacted founders and CEOs who could evaluate the opportunity and connect us with the appropriate stakeholders.
Addressing concerns early
We addressed privacy, data ownership, and licensing terms, noting that requirements needed assessment before any agreement.
Infrastructure prepared
We set up the email infrastructure in advance so the campaign could start promptly once targeting and messaging were ready.
The results
The campaigns in the first week generated:
$5.4M in qualified pipeline
27 qualified opportunities
7 opportunities progressing through next steps
The campaign introduced a new potential revenue opportunity to businesses that might already possess suitable operational records and generated qualified commercial interest among the target audience.
The $5.4M represents reported pipeline value, not closed revenue or signed licensing agreements. The seven opportunities progressing through next steps were the immediate focus for further qualification and assessment.
